Future Insurance Professionals Group

The Future Insurance Professionals' Group (FIPG) is a sub-committee of the British Insurance Law Association (BILA).

Who it's for

BILA FIPG focuses its efforts on working with students from universities and law schools across the United Kingdom, in a variety of academic disciplines, as well as those professionals not yet in the industry but who are contemplating careers in the insurance market.

About the group

The remit of the FIPG is to promote the different opportunities available in the London insurance market and within international commercial insurance generally.

It is still a young group, but the committee have already hosted three very successful student networking events in 2012, 2013 and 2014, which together saw over 200 students, graduates and market professionals gather to network over drinks and canapés.

FIPG delegates Stephanie Morton, Kate Luton, Simon Baker, Alexander Green, Jeremy Holden, Charlotte Rowlandson, Christine Williams and Peter Bowden at the 'Commercial Awareness' seminar, Lloyd's, 25/07/2014

The FIPG will be complementing its 2015 student networking event with other events throughout the year. Through its association with BILA, the group can welcome senior figures in the industry to its events from all sectors of the insurance community, including law, underwriting, broking, claims, compliance and operations, as well as representatives from market groups such as the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Lloyd’s Market Association.

CPD is sought for all BILA Courses, lectures and presentations.  BILA is an Accredited CPD Course Provider with the Bar Standards Board, The Solicitors Regulation Authority (quote reference DTH/BILA when claiming) and the CII.

BILA has been granted a CII Continuing Professional Development Event Accreditation licence by the Chartered Insurance Institute.  Law Society members should quote DTH/BILA when making their claim to the SRA
